For a French family with four children, this 1926 Phillip Shutze Italian Palace—lovingly known as the Pink Palace—was restored to its former glory while adapted for modern life. Every detail honored the home’s history, from a garden-like conservatory with a tented-ceiling mural to the library’s marigold-upholstered walls and zodiac-painted ceiling. The ballroom’s chandeliers from Parma glitter alongside meticulously repaired neoclassical tapestries, while existing furnishings were refreshed and murals revived.
Practical touches, like vinyl-upholstered stools and durable finishes, ensure this grand, storied home remains as livable as it is breathtaking—a testament to blending historic preservation with the demands of modern family living.
