For empty nesters inspired by their home’s modern architecture, the goal was a collected, art-filled interior that felt contemporary yet warm. A high-contrast neutral palette, layered with rich textures, sets a sophisticated tone, while whimsical details keep the mood approachable. The sunken living room was raised to meet the kitchen, and a wall removed, creating a one-level flow perfect for daily living.
Budget-conscious touches—a reimagined sectional, poster art transformed into a bold focal point, and a dramatic mid-century sconce—add personality without excess. Channeled Venetian plaster in the entry and substantial brass-and-black furnishings lend weight, balancing the lightness of walls and ceilings.
